What is Tomley Performance?

Performance doesn't happen in a vacuum.

Behind every result is a person—and behind every high-performing person or team is an environment shaping how they think, communicate, lead, respond to failure, and pursue excellence.

Tomley Performance explores the human side of high performance: leadership, culture, communication, athlete development, and the systems that help people perform sustainably.

I work with coaches, teams, and swimming organizations to improve communication, strengthen culture, and develop healthier high-performance environments.

From the Writing:

Ideas about leadership, culture & sustainable excellence.

I write about what I've learned from coaching, leading, competing, and working inside high-performance environments—and the questions I think we should be asking about how we develop people.

Hi, I’m Temarie.

I'm a former Division I swimmer, collegiate coach, and performance leader with more than 20 years of experience inside competitive swimming.

I was a two-time All-American swimmer at the University of Alabama before moving into collegiate athletics, coaching, recruiting, and athlete development. My career has taken me through Power 5 and mid-major Division I programs and into pro swimming, giving me the opportunity to work with athletes at nearly every stage of the performance journey.

What has interested me most throughout that career isn't just what makes people perform—it's how we create environments that allow people to pursue excellence without losing the person in the process.

That's what I'm exploring through Tomley Performance.

A woman wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, a white tank top, and beige shorts, smiling while holding onto a pole at a dock with boats and people in the background.
A smiling young woman and man on a porch with a white dog that has a green bandana. The woman is kneeling with her hand on the dog's side, the man is crouching beside them. The porch has wooden flooring, a wicker chair, and a potted plant, with a yellow house wall and a white door in the background.

Let’s Connect.
